Henry Snow Hocomb married while on a furlough from Confederate Army, - in Cherokee Co., GA Rhonda Ann Bates, born in GA., Jdied April 1916, daughter of Dr. His nephew, John Napoleon Holcomb, living very old in 19 knew Henry Snow and Tillman Dixon Holcomb, as half brothers of his own father, Thomas Jefferson Holcomb. He was a deacon in the Baptist Church and four of his sons served as deacons when interviewed at very advanced age by grandson, intent upon writing a history of his war experiences it was learned from him that Benjamin Holcomb, and that Joshua Holcomb was his father. There was a report of intermarriage of some of Henry Snow Holcomb with Indian tribes under which he could have shared in allotment of Indian lands in Oklahoma when it was opened to white settlements and government grants, but he did not try to claim any or qualify for the land. Another record shows that he was a member of Co. Gordon's Brigade: fought in Seven Days Battle near Richmond, VA. Wright's Legion and was taken to Savannah, GA for training: served in the Division commanded by Thomas J. Ranger, Murray Co., GA enlisted as a private in Co.
